GEA Center for Research and Studies is proud to present key results and achievements from its Student Entrepreneurship project. Launched in 2012 thanks to financial support from USAID, the basic goal of the project was to encourage youth activism and leadership and to promote entrepreneurship among students in Bosnia and Herzegovina

GEA at the Parliamentary Assembly of B&H

At a conference entitled “The position of women and youth in the Bosnia and Herzegovina labor market,” Ms. Belma Hadzimahmutovic presented findings and recommendations from her co-authored GEA study “Youth unemployment – the EU and B&H share the problem, but can they share solutions?”

Youth unemployment – the EU and B&H share the problem, but can they also share solutions?

The economic recession in recent years has had a devastating impact on young people in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with youth unemployment increasing two to three times more than the overall unemployment rate. A new GEA study explores possible solutions to this problem.

Research: Do we help enough to the young people who want to start their own business?

A survey in which students from the “I Have an Idea” program participated found that the lack of money, but also the lack of good business ideas, together with general disinterest for entrepreneurship, are the main reasons for which young people rarely decide to start their own business in B&H.
